SST-9580
The Guardian Family includes two versions of the SST.
The 9580 SST covers the reverse spectrum from 0.3
MHz to 42 MHz. The 9581 SST scans from 0.3 MHz to
65 MHz. Either SST occupies only 2U (3.5”) of rack
space.
The basic SST accepts a single input. In the 9580 SST,
the addition of a single TPM-8 Test Point Manager
module expands this to 8 inputs. In the 9581 SST, two
TPM-8s expand connectivity to 16 inputs. In either case,
digital techniques enable all inputs to be scanned
independently and virtually simultaneously.
SSTs communicate their data to the user in several ways.
Each SST is equipped with a viewscreen by which the
operator can observe return spectra directly. Each SST
9710 also streams measurement data to SSR and RSVP field
units through an internal, frequency-settable FSK
forward transmitter. Finally, Each SST can output
measurement data to an ACM-8 or NCM-4
Communications Manager which manages the
transmission of ingress data to remote monitoring
controllers.
